Paul Wozney, MLA Sackville-Cobequid

Father, teacher, coach. Proudly serving Lower Sackville in #nslegislature

February 7th! A flu, COVID, RSV, and shingles vaccination clinic is coming to Dartmouth - no appointment necessary.

From 1 - 6pm on the 7th, at 230 Pleasant Street, Dartmouth, drop in!
What a turnout at yesterday's rally in support of the laid off Ubisoft Halifax workers!

Dozens braved the frigid cold to call out the Houston government for not protecting our workers, and for letting Ubisoft run off with millions of dollars in public money.

Today is the National Day of Remembrance of the Quebec City Mosque Attack and the National Day of Action Against Islamophobia.

Today marks 9 years since that tragic loss of life, and we mark this anniversary by re-committing to combatting Islamophobia.
Today is Holocaust remembrance day, during which we remember the six million Jewish people murdered out of senseless hatred.

Antisemitism has no place in the world and we must continue to dispel it in all its forms.
Canada treats the act of remembrance as central to our national identity so we never forget that the freedom we enjoy and cherish isn’t free.

It can and does require the most precious cost any of us can pay, and we are fortunate to be served by fellow Canadians willing to pay it on our behalf here at home and in places around the world most of us will never see.

I could give less than a whit what the Bloated Orange fascist says about the role of Canadians in Afghanistan was. He’s a draft dodger.

Canadians fought shoulder to shoulder with NATO allies and Afghan troops in the fiercest of fights in that theatre. 158 Canadians paid the ultimate price in the service of peace and freedom on that soil, and thousands more continued to serve upon their return home. I am proud to call several of them friends and neighbours.

I and every Canadian knows this truth, and no gutless, fake, dishonourable self-serving remark by a poorly spray tanned windbag can erase it.

Their valour remains untainted by the shameful distortion of history by the walking disgrace that occupies the White House.

Canada remembers.
Did you know that, every month, Tapestry Beer Bar donates all the proceeds from their recyclables to a local charity? This month, it's the Cobequid Health Centre Foundation!

To support this worthy cause, the folks at Tapestry ask that you bring your refundable recyclables to them at 833 Sackville Drive.

For more info, check out their website: http://tapestrybeerbar.com/cans-for-a-cause/
I heard from Nova Scotia Power this morning regarding the remaining outages in Sackville. If your power is still off, you'll likely see it return by this afternoon.

The outages near Smokey Drive and Glendale Ave/Kaye Street are expected to be resolved by 2pm today.
Yes - I'm still canvassing to expand the Cobequid Health Centre!

If you want the Houston government to keep their promise and deliver on improved health care in Sackville, sign the petition in my bio!
I had the privilege to attend today’s ceremony to honour four Nova Scotians with the NS Medal of Bravery, one of province’s most prestigious award s bestowed on citizens.

Richard MacPhee, Ryan O’Shea & Scott Rafuse were recognized for their role in the location and rescue of two fellow snowmobilers in the midst of whiteout blizzard conditions for more than 16 hours last winter in Cape Breton.

Gerrid Hunt, a proud Lower Sackville-ian, entered the burning home of his next door neighbours on his hands and knees three times without any protective equipment despite thick, black smoke that made it impossible to see. He managed to rescue a father on his third attempt from a fire that sadly claimed other family members.

It was an honour to thank each of the recipients, and to chat with Mr. Hunt about the impact his actions have had on our community in Sackville.

Folks wanting to view the ceremony can watch it at

Workers power this province, but the Houston government isn't treating them with the respect they deserve. What happened at Ubisoft Halifax sends the wrong message to people who want to build their lives here. Our province can't have a strong economy if we don't protect the workers who create it.

Today, I called on the Minister of Labour to stop looking the other way, strengthen our labour laws, and finally stand up for Nova Scotian workers.
Wishing all a prosperous 2026 - happy New Year!
Thank you Sackville!

Yesterday, our Donate to Skate event in support of Gateway Food Bank was a huge success thanks to everyone who shared our poster, attended, and donated!

36 years ago 14 bright lights, women seeking to better their lives through post secondary learning, in class, doing homework and studying, were brutally murdered for no reason other than they were women.

#genderbasedviolence remains a RIGHT NOW epidemic in NS. Days like today remind men that stemming the tide of gender based violence is our job- that it’s our responsibility to help, not harm, women, and that we are accountable for how we work through and handle our trauma so that the pain we experience doesn’t create harms for others.

Today I remember:
Geneviève Bergeron, Hélène Colgan, Nathalie Croteau, Barbara Daigneault, Anne-Marie Edward, Maud Haviernick, Maryse Laganière, Maryse Leclair, Anne-Marie Lemay, Sonia Pelletier, Michèle Richard, Annie St-Arneault, Annie Turcotte, and Barbara Klucznik-Widajewicz

I remember them so I remember to be a solution to gender based violence in the way that I love, work and live with others.
